Based on the New York Times best-seller, The Meg is a fast-paced sea monster thriller to compete with classics like Jaws and Deep Blue Sea. A submarine which is part of an international deep sea observation program is attached by a giant creature long thought to be extinct. The attacker is a nearly 80-foot long super shark known as a Megalodon, which has been roaming the deepest trenches of the ocean since prehistoric times. After being attacked, the submarine sinks to the bottom of the ocean trench, and with time running out, deep sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor, and visionary Chinese oceanographer Zhang, must get them out.
